Real Wedding Alex, George and Ted
On 21st May Alex and George tied the knot in an intimate, beautiful and relaxed ceremony at Oddfellows on the Park in Cheadle. This was a special one for me being the first wedding I've done in 18 months. It had also been quite a journey for Alex and George who were set to get married in Italy, unfortunately, 2020 put a stop to that.
Alex and George wanted a relaxed and informal day which had to include their gorgeous dog Ted - I'm a massive fan of dogs at weddings so I knew we were going to get on! They both wanted a nod to their original Italian tablescape so we went for a classic and chic palette of green and white flowers, using olive, and eucalyptus with a hint of yellow from Amalfi lemons.
The day started early, and although it was unusually cold and wet for May the hotel was abuzz with activity. While I was setting up the ceremony room Alex was enjoying the special getting ready time with her mum and bridesmaid. The bridal suite at Oddfellows is stunning and really luxurious - bath in the room included! Yasmin Bridal Manchester was doing the hair and makeup, I had wired some specially selected flowers to be placed in her hair which tied in so nicely with the overall feel of elegance.
I will always remember delivering Alex's bridal bouquet, The room was full of joy, laughter and champagne. Handing the bouquet over was truly emotional on both parts. I knew this had been a long, emotional and frustrating journey but it was now a reality and all her dreams were coming true - tears were had on both sides.
Alex bought the most breathtaking dress from The Harrogate Wedding Lounge, I got to hang around as she walked down the grand stairs in the art deco-inspired hallway. She looked ethereal with the silk bouquet ribbon billowing behind her. simply magical.
The atmosphere was joyful, the family reunited after a long time getting the chance to celebrate the coming together of two families, something I don't think we will take for granted again. Sophie at Wyldbee Photography was the photographer and I would highly recommend her. All the photos featured in this blog are hers and she captured the day perfectly and the grey skies make the photos even better - it really is the best lighting.
Lastly a nod to the very dapper looking groom George, he was so cool, calm and collected and clearly very excited to be marrying Alex, it was an absolute pleasure and privilege to have worked on this wedding and I wish them a lifetime of happiness
