Real Wedding Ellen & Alex -The Roebuck Inn Mobberley

I have such a beautiful wedding at The Roebuck Inn Mobberley to share with you. Ellen and Alex got married there back in December 2021 - I can't believe their 1st year anniversary is coming up - sorry this has taken so long guys!!  They had exclusive use of this gorgeous, warm and cosy pub/hotel, with its low beams, dark interiors and roaring fires it was the perfect venue for a December wedding.    I was delighted to be working with Ellen and Alex to bring their vision to life, Ellen was keen to make the flowers a focal point, for them not to be too 'Christmassy' but still have those late autumnal tones.  Inspiration came from their rust/blush-coloured bridesmaids' dresses and the delicate yet stand-out anemone.

On our site visit, it was clear that the couple wanted an arch of sorts at the aisle and working with Sarah from Stories of Events we came up with a celestial design, utilising winter foliage a moon-shaped arch and toffee roses. Surrounded by Sarah's props of lanterns, carpets and plenty of candles it really was a magical setting to get married. To welcome the guest's Ellen asked for one of my bespoke wreaths in her colour scheme, this hung proudly on the entrance gate and as a bonus, they got to keep their wreath to hang on their front door.

The wedding took place in mid-December, a lovely time of year when you don't have to worry too much about the weather because you know it's going to be cold.  As a bride, you get to wear gorgeous jumpers with your dress - bang on trend or lovely warm-styled jackets. Plus, Anemones are just starting to be in abundance - although they can be tricky as they close up if too cold - we did manage to get them in the bridal flowers!

Getting to create bridal bouquets is my favourite part of the creating process and I try to ensure that they reflect the individual and their choice of outfit.  For Ellen I went for a more structured style with an obvious front and back, using Toffee roses, Quicksand, Astilbe, Astrantia Anemone and Eucalyptus.  Finished off with a blush/rust beautiful silk ribbon from the super talented Silk and Purl.

The couple got married in the outside marquee filled with sofas and tables for later in the evening - It was super cosy.  The Wedding breakfast was held in the main restaurant by a roaring fire and candlelight, we went of a lovely collection of bud vases on the tables complimenting the stylist's candles and drapes. (As you might be aware I do love a bud!) Alex and Ellen went for long tables for their intimate wedding. Tapered-coloured candles are a stylish way to introduce more colour and add some height to the tables.  Sometimes less is certainly more when it comes to centrepieces. These buds were then used later on to decorate the marquee for all the dancing!
