Choosing your wedding florist is a big decision, we recognise that. A lot of trust is put into us to create the most perfect wedding flowers for your day. With that in mind we often speak to past couples and ask why they chose us, what we did that was good and where we can improve to make the process even better. Here we spoke with Melissa and Danny who had a beautiful autumn wedding at Oddfellows on the Park. This is what they had to say.

What made you choose Jemma Khan (formerly Forage Floristry) for your wedding flowers
‍

I came across Jemma on Instagram and instantly fell in love with her style. Her natural,
relaxed style definitely suited us and our autumnal wedding theme. My first meet with
Jemma was at our venue and I instantly knew I wanted to work with her. She was so
knowledgeable and really put us at ease with her ideas and expertise!

What was the best part of your day?
‍

We loved absolutely everything about our day. From the moment Jemma arrived in my room
and made me sob with the most beautiful bouquets, I knew that the day ahead was going to
be pretty special. We loved spending the day with all our favourite people and truly smiling
all day long. Even though we planned it all, we still felt like the day was full of surprises. It
was so lovely to see all the hard work come together and to be able to relax and enjoy it.

Tell us a bit about the style/theme of your wedding
‍

We knew we wanted an autumn wedding and we wanted the day to be relaxed and easy
going to match our personalities. We weren’t bothered about all the formalities of a wedding
and really just wanted a big party! We had an October autumnal wedding with gold and deep
purple tones. We wanted the floral arrangements to be a main feature of the day and we had
an array of textures to accompany these such as fruits and berries.

How did the flowers elevate your wedding?
‍

We wanted the flowers to be the key focus point of the day and Jemma smashed it. We
asked Jemma to create something a bit different, something that was WOW and that she did
with the most beautiful hanging ceiling installation of individual flower heads. The colours
and textures used in all the arrangements were simply stunning and really fit with the
autumnal theme. I will never get over the moment I saw my bridal bouquet. It took my breath
away and it continues to be talked about by guests and people looking through our photos.

What was your favourite arrangement?
‍

There’s no way I could choose. I loved all of them! I’m so glad we went for a variety of
arrangements. The stair puddle, the urns, the bud vases, the hanging installation, the cake
flowers. It meant wherever we were in the venue, we were surrounded with Jemma’s
masterpieces. The fact that all of the ceremony flowers could be reused in the wedding
breakfast room was also a big bonus. They were all too beautiful to not see again! The
colours and the variety of flowers were all so amazing.

How did you find the whole process of working with Jemma?
‍

Amazing! I absolutely could not fault it. She is so professional, calm and talented. She was
always at the end of a phone/email and responded promptly. We met several times at the
venue beforehand. Nothing was ever too much. She showed genuine excitement about our vision and worked with us to create something that was way above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I trusted Jemma from the moment I met her and I was able to
leave her to work her magic without any stress. I had complete confidence in Jemma. She
also supplied candles and vases and took control of styling the tables, the cake and the
ceremony room which meant we didn’t have to consider any extras.

Do you have any words of wisdom for future couples planning their wedding?
‍

USE JEMMA! You absolutely will not regret it. Her work is absolutely incredible and as is
she! I can honestly say I did not find the wedding planning process as stressful as expected
and it was most definitely down to the suppliers we used. It’s so important to use suppliers
you can absolutely trust and are able to build a relationship with. Suppliers who actually care
about your vision and who are able to build on and support your ideas. Make sure you enjoy
the process as it’s all part of it!
