Wedding Planning: What Comes Next?

Following on from my last blog post, here’s the next instalment to help you with your wedding planning journey. Once you’ve booked the big essentials like your venue and photographer, it’s time to focus on the details that bring your day to life—the flowers, hair and makeup, and of course, the dress. This is where the fun truly begins!

Whether you’re dreaming of an elegant celebration or something more relaxed, finding the right wedding suppliers in the North West is key to creating your perfect day.

The Wedding Dress

Chances are, you’ve imagined your wedding dress since you were little—I know I did! I used to play dress-up with my mum’s veil, pretending I was getting married (sorry, Mum!). Choosing the dress is a big deal. Whether you have a clear vision or no idea where to start, visiting at least a couple of bridal shops in the North West is a must. You might surprise yourself and fall in love with something completely different from what you’d imagined.

Pro Tip: Your wedding dress will help set the tone and vibe for your entire wedding. When I chose mine, I was torn between two very different styles: one was slim and patterned, perfect with long satin gloves, while the other was a sleek Jesús Peiró dress with pockets. I opted for the latter, pairing it with Jimmy Choos for the day and Converse for the evening. This relaxed style set the stage for the rest of the details.

Flowers: Your Next Priority

Once your dress is sorted, it’s time to think about flowers. If you’re looking for a wedding florist in the North West, it’s best to book around nine months before the big day. This gives us plenty of time to plan, prepare, and perfect your vision.

Start with a consultation. Even if I’m not the right florist for you, a 30-minute chat can be incredibly valuable. Most of our work is bespoke, so it’s difficult to provide a quote without a brief. After our call, I’ll create a personalised proposal and mood board, tailored to your wedding. These plans can evolve, especially after a site visit, and nothing needs to be finalised until about eight weeks before the wedding.

Top Tip: Don’t stress about knowing specific flowers or designs—that’s my job! The most important thing is to have a budget in mind, so I can guide you on how to maximise your spend.

Other Wedding Suppliers in the North West

Once your florist is booked, turn your attention to other key suppliers like your stationer and hair and makeup artists. These professionals are often in high demand, so it’s worth securing your bookings early.
